Grow | How do I Manage Categories in BLAZE?

Managing BLAZE Categories

In your BLAZE account, you may have noticed the Manage Category section. This is utilized to keep your inventory organized. Categories in BLAZE can be customized to match your needs and can be as specific as you need or want to make them. 

Every product in your inventory will need to have a category assigned. Categories can be designated as cannabis or non-cannabis.

You will also map these categories to your Metrc categories if you are required by your state to integrate with Metrc. Keep in mind that if not all of the products in a category belong in the same Metrc category that's okay! We can show you how to map this product to the needed Metrc category on the product level so it can stay organized the way you want.

Adding Categories to BLAZE

1. Log into Grow Sales using your email and password.

2. Navigate to Manage Categories found under the Inventory section of the Menu. 

3. Click + New Category.

4. Complete the Add Category pop-up window. 

5. Click Save to add the new category to BLAZE.

Editing BLAZE Categories

1. Log into Grow Sales using your email and password.

2. Navigate to Manage Categories found under the Inventory section of the Menu. 

3. Click  Annotation_2020-06-23_104948.png  to the right of the category you wish to edit.   

4. Complete the Edit Category pop-up window. 

5. Click Update to save the changes made to the category.

Deleting BLAZE Categories 

NOTE: In order to delete a category it may not be associated with a product profile. If you try the steps below and see the error "There are currently products assigned to this category." you will want to navigate to your products, locate any associated with the category you want to delete and change the assigned category. Once all products have been re-assigned to a new category the steps below will work. 

1. Log into Grow Sales using your email and password.

2. Navigate to Manage Categories found under the Inventory section of the Menu. 

3. Click  Annotation_2020-06-23_1049481.png  to the right of the category you wish to delete.  

4. You will see the message "Category has been deleted successfully" pop-up at the top of the page to confirm it has been removed. 

Mapping BLAZE Categories with Metrc Categories

1. Log into Grow Sales using your email and password.

2. Navigate to Manage Categories found under the Inventory section of the Menu. 

3. Click  Annotation_2020-06-23_104948.png  to the right of the category you wish to edit.   

4. Using the Metrc Category drop-down, select the appropriate Metrc category for the items in this BLAZE category. This is determined by your state regulations. 

NOTE: If there are a few products in a category that should be mapped to a different Metrc category but you do not want to change the BLAZE category that is okay! Check out the instructions below for setting a Metrc category on the product level.

5. Click Update to save the changes made to the category.

Setting a Metrc Category on the Product Level

NOTE: Before you can associate an individual product to a Metrc category the product must already be created and assigned to a BLAZE category that is mapped to a Metrc category. This feature is meant to over-ride the Metrc category mapped to the BLAZE category and replace it with a different Metrc category. 

1. Log into Grow Sales using your email and password.

2. Navigate to Products found under the Inventory section of the Menu. 

3. Select the product you want to set the Metrc category for and click the Edit button from the top right corner.

4. Select the appropriate category from the Metrc Category drop-down menu. 

5. Click Save to update the Metrc Category
